ICEXPO Media Night

ICEXPO will be "trying to reinvent the concept of meet & greet events", according to the event director, Christopher Soh.

Managing large crowds and giving more quality time for interaction is the focus - a total of 5 hours for attendees to interact with the overseas guests.

When asked more about the challenges they face in their cosplay journey, Misa commented that she hopes to be able to pull of manly characters in the future as her make up skills improve. She had already made some costumes, but being unable to pull of the masculinity due to the shape and size of her face, has put them aside for now.

Shiraga also mentioned that the natural measurements of various characters can make it difficult especially when it comes to height and overall body-size. The Taiwanese cosplayers have employed photography tricks to achieve the "correct" size or relative sizes of characters, but have refrained from bringing such cosplays to events for the reasons stated above.

On the other hand, Sakuya spoke on the issues of using special effects makeup and designing unique textures such as the exposed teeth for Adolf (Terraformers). She even had an allergic reaction to some clay being used on her skin in the past.

Shibuki had also experienced some difficult moments when she donned a multi-layer kimono - 4 basic layers and 8 obis - and had to wade into a river. The material gradually soaked up the water and weighed so much that she had to get 2 helpers to drag her out, being unable to move from her position. It was also difficult to maintain one's expression when under stressful situations, as one of her photoshoots required her to stand very near the edge of a waterfall.

Combined with various subculture performances by Pika Pika Meido Cafe, A- LIVE, Ryuusei, and Tengoku Parade, the Street Showcase will take to the outdoor areas of Orchard Road for various youths to perform for public audiences.

Junnyan, one of the founders of the Harajuku Fashion Walk, had the most striking outfit in the hall.

However, he claims that his wardrobe is full of colourful and his dress-sense comes naturally to him - there is no prior planning or special matching outfits, he just grabs something and puts it together on the spot.

Unfortunately, the guests from Hong Kong were delayed due to a typhoon and couldn't reach in time.
