LiSA LiVE is Smile Always ~Singapore 2015~ Concert

LiSa fans were stoked to watch their J-pop rock star at Resort World Sentosa earlier this 18 July 2015 evening. Although it was LiSA’s 5th time performing in Singapore, this was her first solo live performance. She delivered a power-packed opening, starting with Cosmic Jet Coaster and Crossing Fields (Sword Art Online OP), sharing with the her happiness and excitement to be back in Singapore.

A variety of songs songs from Angel Beats, as well as Oath Sign (Fate/Zero OP) and the latest anisong Rally Go Round (Nisekoi OP) were all part of her invigorating set, along with a very emotional performance of Ichiban no Takaramono, and an unwavering performance of Mitsu.
As LiSA picked up her black guitar, the crowd started cheering – what did she have in store for the last stop of her Tour? In a cheeky tone, she asked “Do you like Japanese (idol) songs?” and unexpectedly broke into a medley of AKB (Heavy Rotation, Flying Get, and Koisuru Fortune Cookie), earning her the cheers of “LiSA48”.

Another highlight of LiSA’s concerts are the dance-along  segments, and Elect Lyrical prepared for the audience – with her adorable charm, she did a slow demo for everyone, then sped it up so that her fans could get the right tempo to the moves. She even threw in a “sexy voice version” just for fanservice. During BRiGHT FLiGHT, LiSA walked up to the stage right to pick up a Minion plush toy from one of the fans then continued the song while hugging it; her hardcore fans were having a field day!The moment LiSA left the stage, her local (unofficial) fanclub, myself included, started to sing Itsuka no Tegami as her encore-call.

As we were mid-way through something that felt like the fourth refrain, LiSA snuck out from behind the curtains at the side of the stage to watch the audience and mentioned that she was extremely touched that her fans in Singapore knew how to sing the song too. Before performing it herself (which we anticipated), she expressed her love for Singapore ever since her debut at AFA, calling it another place that she likes to call home – and dropped another surprise on everyone by performing a rendition of Kit Chan’s “Home”!

During the finale (Crow Song, Angel Beats), LiSA jumped off the stage and ran into the audience, even engaging those sitting towards the back of the auditorium, before introducing her bend (RaMeN) and taking a whole bunch of selfies with the crowd. VIP fans then got to experience an exclusive Meet and Greet session after the performance, receiving autographed posters from LiSA herself!

In 3 days time, EGOIST will be coming to Singapore and I can hardly wait - I've been a huge fan of Ryo's works in Supercell and EGOIST since 2011 and this is the first solo live where Chelly will be performing all of my favourite songs! I know she'll be hidden behind a screen and that she does have some pitching issues at live concerts, but she's definitely one of my favourite singers (especially in the anisong genre) next to LiSA!
Tickets are still available! For more details: http://www.japanmusicfestival.asia/egoist2015
